Amazingly, there are four roller shade blackout components that can be added to any roller shade in addition to blackout fabric! Each of these components are designed to prevent or aid with light leakage to ensure guests can have a blacked out room for a better night of rest. Keep reading to learn about these four blackout components!
1. SIDE CHANNEL: “U” shaped channel installed along the side edges of the window openings that encapsulates the edge of the roller shade. Used to prevent light leak.
2. SILL CHANNEL: “U” shaped channel installed along the bottom of window openings that encapsulates the edge of the roller shade. Used to prevent light leak.
3. BACK FASCIA: Added to the rear of the shade to minimize light leakage over top of treatment.
4. CENTER CHANNEL: Double sided channel used to address light leakage with coupled shades.
